Toe hang refers to the angle at which the toe of the putter hangs down when at rest. See the chart below to see the toe hangs produced by our various head an hosel combinations. Please note that our Mach 1.0 model will always be face balanced.

Why is this an important characteristic to consider when choosing a putter? Simply put, putters with greater amounts of toe hang require more effort to rotate the face back to square at impact. Without a square face at impact, it’s nearly impossible to hole those crucial putts. The point where the axis of the shaft intersects the putter head is what determines the amount of toe hang a putter will have. That point being at the heel of the putter would result in the most to hang and that point being in the middle of the putter head would result in no toe hang, or what we call face-balanced. Knowing this information about your putter is important because certain amounts of toe hang compliment certain putting strokes. Players with a prominent arc in their stroke will benefit from a putter with more toe hang due to the natural opening and closing of the face throughout the stroke. Players with minimal arc will be better suited with a face balanced, or nearly face balanced putter.
